DENR Caraga successfully conducted two batches of Gender Sensitivity Trainings on March 30 and 31, 2023 at the DENR Regional Learning Center in Brgy. Ambago, Butuan City. This was attended by 40 participants from the regional and field offices.

The two-day training seeks to heighten the awareness of DENR Caraga employees on gender issues and concerns; and to increase their understanding on the basic concept of gender and sex, gender stereotypes, gender equity and equality, gender discrimination, and sexual harassment at the workplace.

DENR Caraga joins the nation in celebrating the 2023 National Women's Month this March 2023 with its new recurring theme from this year to 2028 “WE for gender equality and inclusive society”.

The region’s kick-off activity for this year, spearheaded by the Regional Development Council - Regional Gender and Development Committee (RDC-RGADC) now chaired by the Commission on Population and Development (POPCOM) Caraga, is a motorcade from Guingona Park going to Caraga State University (CSU) Main Campus, Butuan City, where the short program for this year's Women's Month celebration was held.

Moreover, the office also initiated the creation of its “Purple Corner” in support of the #PurpleYourIcon Campaign by decorating purple a specific area in the office hallway to spark interest in the celebration and what it stands for.

The annual celebration for women seeks to promote a society that ensures inclusion, protection of fundamental freedoms, diversity, and social justice and in which every individual, each with rights and responsibilities, is capacitated and encouraged to take an active role to play.##
