Butuan City - DENR Caraga welcomes its new Regional Executive Director (RED) Nonito M. Tamayo as he reported at the regional office of DENR 13, Ambago, Butuan City on March 1, 2021, following the Special Order no. 2021-59 issued by DENR Secretary Roy A. Cimatu.

RED Tamayo replaced OIC-RED Hadja Didaw Piang-Brahim who retired from service early last month after serving for 41 years in the government.

RED Tamayo is not new to Caraga region.  He was assigned as Regional Technical Director for Forestry in 2012 and was later designated as OIC-Regional Executive Director in 2013 until he became a full-fledged Director III in 2014 and soon promoted to Director IV in 2016.  He left Caraga in 2017 when he was assigned as the Director of the Forest Management Bureau (FMB).  From 2017 to 2020 he served the FMB and the Ecosystems Research Development Bureau (ERDB).  He was the Regional Executive Director of DENR Region 4A-CALABARZON from 2020 to 2021 before he was assigned back here in Caraga as RED.

In his message during the kick-off activity of the regionโ€™s Womenโ€™s Month celebration where he was initially welcomed by the DENR Caraga officials and personnel, he prodded them to give his management the support and cooperation they afforded him the last time he was with the region or even more than the usual to effectively attain the priority programs of the agency and to provide good quality services to the people in the region. ##
