Regional Executive Director Nonito M. Tamayo presides over the DENR Caraga 1st Quarter Management Conference on March 15-16, 2021 at the DENR Regional Learning Center in Ambago, Butuan City.

During the first day of the conference, EMB Caraga Regional Director Engr. Albert Arcamo, MGB Caraga Regional Director Engr. Glenn Marcelo Noble represented by Chief Administrative Officer Bebot Cabiling, Forest and Wetland Research, Development and Extension Center - ERDB Center Head Conrado Marquez, and the PENR Officers of the five provinces of the region reported their accomplishments in the field including the issues and concerns within their areas of jurisdiction especially those affecting their performance and the environment with a goal to come-up with a solution.

The CENR Offices of Talacogon and Nasipit receive an award on lowest greenhouse gas emission for FY 2020 on March 15, 2021 at the DENR Regional Learning Center in Brgy. Ambago, Butuan City.

The recognition was awarded by EMB Caraga Regional Director Engr. Albert G. Arcamo together with DENR Caraga Regional Executive Director Nonito M. Tamayo.

After the presentation and computation of the Regional Office, Field Offices and Line Bureaus for the GHG Emission Inventory for Scope 1 (Fuel Energy Cons, Scope 2. (Purchased Electricity) and Scope 3 (Air Business Travel), it was concluded that the restriction of movements from last year due to Covid-19 pandemic crisis has tremendous impact on the GHG Emission (tCO2e) considering all of the offices had reduced their emissions on fuel, electricity and air travel especially on the Air Business Travel. The following are the offices that had the highest reduction:

Scope 1 – CENRO Talacogon with 80% decrease

Scope 2 – CENRO Nasipit with 52% decrease

Scope 3 – it was not included since most of the offices had no air travel business due to Covid-19

Over-all (Scope 1-3) – CENRO Nasipit with 51% decrease
