PAMO SIPLAS personnel welcomes USec Teh, DENR Climate Change Service and Gender and Development Office Director Elenida Del Rosario-Basug, personnel from the Central Office, Regional Office, and PENRO Surigao del Norte.
The first day of the teamโs visit started with a short briefing spearheaded by Protected Area Superintendent Celsa Espadero followed by a site visit at the Protected Area Management Office of SIPLAS in Dapa and the proposed relocation site in Brgy. Del Carmen (Pob.), Municipality of Del Carmen, Surigao del Norte.
The team also visited some mangrove areas within the island, particularly, the Del Carmen Mangrove Eco-Park and the mangrove beach forest in Brgy. Talisay, Municipality of San Benito to assess the impacts of Typhoon Odette in communities with close proximity to mangrove areas.
