DENR Caraga joined with its counterparts in Regions 10 and 11 in a Cross Border Reconnaissance to strengthen environmental law enforcement efforts within the boundaries of the three regions on July 18 to 19, 2023.

ARD for Technical Services Maritess M. Ocampo led DENR Caraga’s team while ARDs for TS Ronald D. Gadot, Sr. and Victor T. Billones headed the teams of Regions 10 and 11, respectively.

One of the highlights of the activity was the drone surveillance within the six areas: 1). Sitio Nursery, Kasapa 1, Loreto, Agusan del Norte bordering Dato Davao, Laak, Davao de Oro; 2). Bagtok in Brgy. Kasapa 1, Loreto, Agusan del Sur bordering Cabanglasan, Bukidnon; 3). Sitio Moling in Brgy. Gupitan, Kapalong, Davao del Norte bordering Kasapa 1, Loreto, Agusan del Sur; 4). Sitio Langan, Kapalong, Davao del Norte bordering Brgy. NamNam, San Fernando, Bukidnon; 5). Brgy. NamNam, San Fernando, Bukidnon bordering Sitio Langan, Kapalong, Davao del Norte; and 6). Brgy. Miaray, Cabanglasan, Bukidnon bordering Sitio Bagtok Kasapa 1, Loreto, Agusan del Sur.

The activity ended with an exit conference conducted at PENRO Bukidnon in Malaybalay City, Bukidnon on the second day, where the teams discussed the results of the reconnaissance activity. They have also identified plans and strategies to be implemented in tri-boundary areas to address the present environmental issues. The activity promotes strengthened collaboration among the three (3) regions’ officials and enforcement personnel to enhance environmental protection, particularly in shared border areas.
