DENR Caraga Regional Executive Director Nonito M. Tamayo forged partnership with the Department of Agriculture (DA) in the implementation of the "Plant, Plant, Plant Program" or "Ahon Lahat, Pagkaing Sapat (ALPAS) Laban sa COVID-19" to increase the country's food adequacy level during the pandemic on July 6, 2021 at the DENR Caraga Regional Office, Brgy. Ambago, Butuan City.

The project aims to temporarily use more or less 1,000 square meters of the Mechanized and Modernized Forest Nursery (MMFN) located at Brgy. Maharlika, Bislig City, Surigao del Sur for vegetable seedling production.

DENR Caraga shall propagate the vegetable seeds (pechay, kangkong, kamatis, okra, atsal, ampalaya, pakwan, sitaw and talong) provided by the DA, conduct care and maintenance of the vegetable seedlings before distribution, and distribute it to its recipient in coordination with the concerned Local Government Units.

The activity was witnessed by Assistant Regional Director for Technical Services Maritess M. Ocampo, Conservation and Development Division Chief Nilda G. Ebron, MMFN Technical Staff, and DA personnel.

Proper health protocols were observed during the activity. ##
