Environment Secretary Gina Lopez (left) sits down with editor-in-chief Chris Icban (right) of the Manila Bulletin in a roundtable discussion at the publication’s head office. Lopez discusses why investing in biodiversity is more profitable than in mining. She says that “genuine economic growth is when it results to social justice.” Therefore, her choices are based on “those which will benefit the people the most,” and envisions “engineering an economy where all people benefits” so as to uphold the value of social justice. ###

Fe Perez-Agudo seal their partnership to promote business and biodiversity conservationin the ASEAN (Association of Southeast Asian Nations) region with a firm handshake, following their signing of a memorandum of cooperation on March 30, 2017 in Manila.  Oliva said the partnership is an important milestone for ACB as it signals the growing involvement of the business sector in the effort to conserve the world’s biodiversity. ###
